Abstract This work is devoted to the problems of development of students' physical qualities at physical training lessons with health-improving effect. Authors analyze the possibility of usage of running at the level of limit of anaerobic metabolism for correction of functional status, aerobic abilities and endurance of students of technical colleges. Conducted researches have allowed the authors to recommend running with heart-rate 140-150 beats per minute as an optimal method for development of endurance and aerobic abilities to the students that are engaged in physical training with health-improving effect.
