Abstract The aim of the research is to analyse and determine the interaction between swimmers start phase performance, anthropometric and physical fitness indicators. The subjects of the study were swimmers (n=29 male), age 17,04±3,34 years. Research results show that time shown by male athletes in swimming the 15 m start phase has strong correlation with anthropometric indicators: body height (r = -0,590), weight (r = -0,651), shoulder (r = -0,523) and pelvic width (r=- 0,648), chest girth (r = -0,731); with drawing force on the surface (r = -0,677), block time (r = -0,426), and hydrodynamic indicator: gliding distance and velocity (r = -0,378-0,495).
