CATEGORIES OF COMPETITIONS AND THEIR RATING DESCRIPTION IN THE CONDITIONS OF PROFESSIONALIZATION OF TRACK-AND-FIELD

| Abstract |
This article examines
the categories of competitions and their
rating description under the conditions of
professionalization in track-and-fi eld. The
analysis of ratings showed that in trackand-
field the most prestigeos the events
under the conditions of professionalization
are «many days» competitions, such as:
Games of Olympiads, World championship,
World track-and-fi eld fi nals. As for the
number of points, the rating of «many
days» contests to time then the «one day»
competitions, four times higher that the
indoor competitions and eighteen times
then the other categories.
